 😢 Betrayal Driven by Jealousy: The Cruel Act of a Friend


There was a shocking incident from Jabalpur of Madhya Pradesh, a area which has frequently covered crime related news: 21 year old Shraddha Das, a BBA student, was lured to step out of her home late into the night of June 29, by her childhood friend - at which time she was brutally doused in acid, resulting in over 50% of burns on her body .

😡 Root Cause: Friendships Destroyed By Rivalry


Ishita Sahu, an alleged attacker resolved to use acid on her childhood friend, who was just recently placed in a job in West Bengal and who she joined in deep hostility over out of resentment, for reasons that are currently unknown to authorities and involve a viral video from Ishita's past (which she blames her childhood friend Shraddha for).

🧪 Premeditated Cruelty: Conspiracy to Commit a Crime Using Forged Documents.

In disturbing detail, Ishita secured acid as a result of positive action using forged college letterhead from Gyan Ganga College and made a phone call to another holder of (Ishita's) post and acted as a professor . The acid was purchased under the pretense of college practical experiment before the attacker made a surprise ambush.


🚨 Aftermath & Arrest


Shraddha sustained burns to her face, chest, arms, and legs, and is currently hospitalized and in critical but stable condition .


Ishita has been arrested and charged under IPC sections concerning acid attack and attempted murder; and did not appear to feel remorse, even asking police if she would get the death penalty .


Investigators are also currently looking for Ansh Sharma the accomplice who helped bring the assault, and the shopkeeper who sold the acid.
